The Scorpion ™ E-MTB range is the evolution of mountain biking tires: new standards in duration, protection from drilled and battery savings. A tread with medium profile and spacing, specific for the use at the rear to guarantee traction and stability on a variety of different soils, from hard to soft. The Scorpion ™ E-MTB R tread is developed for use on the same land as the Scorpion ™ E-MTB M, with high height and spacing dowels and a wide range of use. The specific design of the central dowels, derived from the experience of Pirelli in the motocross world, increases the grip and stability both when braking and in traction to give to Scorpion ™ E-MTB R dynamic characteristics and unique reliability.

Characteristics

Technologies
Smartgrip+ compound
Pirelli added Lignina to its specific compound for the E-MTB called Smartgrip+, it is a chemical component of natural origin coming from the artisan production process of the paper. Not only is it a low impact additive, but it also improves the mechanical properties of the rubber even more to be in a final tension force and an extension of the laboratory rubber sample, increasing it by 10%. This translates into better tear resistance, necessary to support the overloads of fast driving and braking couples of the electrical engines of the modern e-Mtbikes. This improvement of performance comes without compromising the other characteristic of the Smartgrip formulation compound: the socket.
Hyperwall
The third innovation that Pirelli brings to the world of cycling from its background in Motorsport: a new construction of the heel and hips that further increases the performance of the tire in terms of handling at low pressure and resistance to drilling. In particular in offroad applications, especially in the most demanding ones such as Gravity and the E-MTB, the integrity of the Tallone area and the stability of the hips are a fundamental point for the overall performance of the pneumatic: the tread with its sophisticated compound It relies a lot to the behavioral characteristics of these two elements. Pirelli has introduced a construction that firmly fixes the heel and the insert of the rubber hips with a woven fabric flipper, making sure that they behave as a single solid piece instead of separate components with relative movements to each other.
